Piedmont Federal Savings Bank got its start in 1903, when a small group of businessmen saw a need for a reliable source for home financing in Winston-Salem and created what would become one of Northwestern North Carolina's most enduring financial institutions.
It was the dream, the effort, and the desire of this group of founders to provide a safe and stable savings plan and an economical way for the average family to buy or build a home and pay for it in monthly installments. They determined that the “Building and Loan” structure was the vehicle to accomplish this task, and formed the Piedmont Building & Loan Association.
In 1921, the bank change its name to Piedmont Mutual Building & Loan Association, and again in 1935 to Piedmont Federal Savings & Loan Association. In 2008, we became Piedmont Federal Savings Bank to better reflect the products and services we offer.
