Community Involvement | March 2010

Piedmont Federal is committed to making a positive difference in the communities where we live and work.

Go Red for Women National Wear Red Day

Thanks to all of our employees who supported the "Go Red for Women National Wear Red Day." Pictured here are many of our Main Office and Downtown branch employees, as well as the Northside, Kernersville, Boone, and Southpark branch employees, who honored the day by wearing red.

While we don't have a picture, we understand that the following branches also had 100% participation on this special day – Peace Haven, Reynolda, and Stratford Road.

A special congratulations to Erica Helms and Stephanie Nelson who each won $25 in the drawing of all employees wearing red. Thanks Piedmont for supplying the pizza lunch to thank us all for supporting the cause!

Konnoak Elementary

Mrs. McCoy from Konnoak Elementary is teaching our new group of volunteers, Debra Scott, Anne Cole Nicholson, Deborah Tuttle, Gale Lauwers, and David Smelcer how to be reading buddies. Not pictured is Ingrid Nolasco who had a scheduling conflict. These big hearted souls join our existing volunteers: Brandy Mitchell, Chinita Lassiter, Chip Pulliam, John Lakeman, Lisa Snowden, Mike Hauser, and Rebecca Mabe in representing Piedmont, oh so well, while changing the lives of 14 very lucky children. Do you remember when our goal was 8 volunteers? Wow! So proud to be a teammate!!

After the training session Mrs. McCoy remarked, “Training was great, and thanks for the volunteers. If they need anything please let me know! We appreciate the clothes so much, our students and staff are lucky to have you all!!!!”
