2013 Artizens Gala at the Milton Rhoades Center

The Artizens gala Was held in April at the Milton Rhoades Center. Walkertown High School, Kennedy High School and the Career Center was added this year, which increased the Gala display to eighty pieces of artwork. This year’s Artizens puts the awards to students and contributions to art departments at over $30,000.

Empty Bowls

Piedmont Federal sponsored a table at the annual Empty Bowl event on April 24th. The price of a ticket buys a soup, salad, dessert and the opportunity to select a pottery bowl. Ric Wagner and Wanda Merschel  were among the  celebrity servers. The event raised more than $83,000.00 the equivalent of more than 581,000 meals!
 

2013 Spring Parade of Homes

Piedmont Federal sponsored the Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem’s 2013 Spring Parade of Homes. The Home Builders Association House was located in Lewisville at lake Lissara where several Piedmont Federal lenders were available.  Visitors had an opportunity to register for one of our “Home is Where the Heart Is” doll houses.

Slide Program

Slide Program (Student Leadership Involvement Day for Education). High school juniors and seniors from all county high schools get the opportunity to shadow a community leader for a day. David Styers and Chinita Lassiter were shadowed by two students from Regan and West Forsyth. Michael Boston and a student and counselor from North Forsyth High School also participated.

Parkland High School Teachers Lunch

Piedmont Federal partnered with Parkland High School and hosted the annual end of year teachers lunch. Lunch was served by our employees: Sherrill Deaton, Manager of Southpark Branch; Mike Hauser, Executive Vice President and Parkland graduate; Dean Browder, Senior Officer and Parkland graduate; Debbie Lentz, Marketing Assistant and Parkland graduate; Wanda Merschel, Senior Vice President; and Bob Martin, Vice President. It was our pleasure to express our appreciation to these devoted teachers.
